If you’re feeling more adventurous, follow the trail system that winds from Aperture Park down into the river bottom for a deeper exploration of the landscape. Along the way, you’ll encounter The Thing—a striking public art installation made from a mix of materials, nestled in the valley and perfect for creative, thought-provoking shots. Continue onward to discover the weir, where the Oldman River flows over a structured drop, creating dynamic movement and contrast for landscape photography. These trails offer a more rugged, immersive experience and open up a whole new perspective of the coulees, river, and surrounding prairie terrain.
